2025 Cemetery Restoration Bids

The Town of Madison is requesting bids for repairing, restoring, resetting and cleaning headstones and markers (see before and after pictures below by way of example) at three town-owned cemeteries:

1)Leakos (Hayden) Cemetery, East Madison Rd

2)E. Thompson Cemetery, River Road

3)E. Walters (Barron Corner) Cemetery, River Road

Cemeteries must be maintained per Maine Statute Title 13 § 1101 – which reads in part: “…the municipality…shall keep in good condition all graves, headstones, monuments and markers designating the burial place of Revolutionary soldiers and sailors and veterans of the Armed Forces of the United States.”

Bids have been extended and are due by 3pm on Monday, September 22, 2025. Bids must be clearly marked Madison Cemetery Restoration Bids and may be delivered by fax to 696-5623, or by email to , or by mail to PO Box 190, Madison, ME 04950. For questions or to view the cemetery sites, please call the Town Manager at 696-3971. The Town of Madison reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.
